Did you know…? March, 2020

One of the Lathrop Homes buildings awaiting its exciting renovation!
Learn about its history here!

Surprise! I’m talking about the brick that comes from the Chicago River! It’s got an interesting history and that wabi sabi appeal that has people clamoring for it worldwide!

Yes, yes, you thought I was talking about how Chicago has been dying the river green since the 60’s. Well actually, it’s two plumber families who do it, and the formula is top secret (which they swear is non-toxic). But what I wanted to do was divert from the sadness of the parades cancelling this year and highlight the brick that comes from the river’s clay! Or, at least it used to, anyway.

PSA: Please wash your hands! I even did a video on it.

Did you know I do residential sales and leasing, and I can help you find a great home, investment property, buyer, or tenant? My current listings are on my website! And if I can’t help you personally, did you know I can refer you to a fellow REALTOR® anywhere across the country? If you have a real estate-related question, I make it my mission to get it answered!

Here’s another piece of trivia:
The St. Patrick’s Day celebrations started in Chicago over 175 years ago- not as a fun event, but for when the Irish immigrants were fighting discrimination.

This is an opportunity for you to help stop domestic violence locally, and you get something back! WINGS is a reputable program that helps women and their children with housing, relocation, counseling, and so much more. A big source of where their funding comes from is through their resale shops. (I’f you haven’t been to one, OMG you absolutely must! NICE stuff!) The event I’m hosting is a Drop N’ Swap: If you bring in at least 5 items, you can choose up to 3 to take home with you, and WINGS gets the rest. The items can be clothes (for women, men, and children), household goods, jewelry, and so much more! The flyer

has a handy list for you.

Wouldn’t this be a great way to get back into being social again? Please pass the word around, and I look forward to seeing you there.
